This local business uses reclaimed wood to create extraordinary furniture.

Founded in September of 2012 by the husband and wife team of Joe and Jessica Fama, Fama Creations, LLC is an Orlando-based custom woodworking company that specializes in creating one of a kind, custom pieces of furniture and home décor made from reclaimed and antique wood. Joe and Jessica, grew up in the Northeast living in rural New York and Pennsylvania where they were inspired by the history and beauty found in every barn and antique store. Following in the footsteps of his great grandfather, Joe decided to continue the tradition of building wood pieces that will be passed down from generation to generation.

IWCS (International Wood Collector's Society) is a nonprofit organization which promotes wood culture. Each year on March 21st, IWCS holds World Wood Day, a cultural event highlighting wood as an eco-friendly and renewable biomaterial. World Wood Day celebrations aim to raise awareness and understanding of the key role that wood plats in a sustainable world future. I was tasked to tell a story of a local business whom currently fulfills the mission of IWCS while using wood to their advantage, in a positive way, to create.
